October meant treats for everyone in New York sports betting.

That was evident when official monthly mobile wagering figures were released Thursday afternoon by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC).

With the New York Mets and New York Yankees making appearances in the MLB Playoffs, the surprising success of both the Jets and Giants in the NFL and the starts of the NBA and NHL regular seasons, New York produced one of its highest totals since launch on Jan. 8.

Surpassing the $1 billion mark for the eighth time, mobile sports betting handled more than $1.543 billion, up 22.8% from September (more than $1.256 billion). Combined with the $11.26 million in retail handle, the total was more than $1.555 billion.

Here are the month-to-month handles in New York:

  • January: $1.67 billion
  • February: $1.53 billion
  • March: $1.64 billion
  • April: $1.39 billion
  • May: $1.26 billion
  • June: $1.05 billion
  • July: $800.8 million
  • August: $872.2 million
  • September: $1.26 billion
  • October: $1.55 billion

Earlier Thursday, the NYSGC reported a handle of more than $53 million for the week ending Nov. 6.

FanDuel’s total mobile GGR for the month ($76.43 million) was a considerable increase from September ($65.69 million).

DraftKings Sportsbook NY also had considerable gains, posting its highest-ever mobile handle in the state at $534.57 million, a whopping $112.36 million increase from September ($422.2 million).
