It was a bounce-back week for mobile New York sports betting operators for the week ending June 4 as official weekly figures were released Thursday afternoon by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC).
Total mobile handle for the week posted at more just shy of $300 million ($299.89M), a $37.9 million jump from $261.99M the previous week.
However, total mobile Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) came in at about $25.29 million, a more than $10.67 million decrease from a week ago.
Weekly tax collected by Albany: $12,895,651, a $5.31 million decrease from last week.
Since launch in January 2022, the state has handled more than $24.3 billion, posted more than $2.08 billion in total GGR and over $1.06 billion in taxes.
Inside the Numbers
A look inside the weekly numbers reveals two different outcomes.
Eight of the nine mobile providers in the state had increases in total handle from the week before.
DraftKings NY led the way in that regard, with a significant $21 million increase.
FanDuel Sportsbook NY also had an increase of more than $6.8 million to more than $121.05 million.
Also note that FanDuel, the stateās top operator, will surpass $10 billion in cumulative handle later this month.
On the other hand, seven of the nine providers had decreases in each of their total mobile GGR numbers, with Rush Street Interactive's NY BetRivers showing the only increase in both handle and GGR. Bally Bet also saw a week-over-week increase in revenue.
Here are the New York sports betting apps, from 1 to 9, in total mobile handle:
1: FanDuel: $121,058,159
2: DraftKings: $105,035,626
3: Caesars: $34,648,110
4: BetMGM: $23,190,460

One other positive: The NFL announced its official preseason schedule on Wednesday, starting with the Hall of Fame Game between the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns at 8 p.m. ET, Thursday, August 3 (NBC). Bigger betting numbers will come with it, of course.
The first full week of preseason games starts on Aug. 10 with the Houston Texans at New England Patriots at 7 p.m. and the Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks at 10 p.m. When the NFL is ready, keep an eye out for NY sportsbook promos.
