Mobile New York sports betting ended last year with revenue record. Now, it is starting 2024 with more records as official figures for January were released by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) late on Friday.
January’s total revenue for both mobile and retail combined came in at $211,706,706. That is up a solid 11.8% from December ($189,287,146). More importantly, it establishes new state and national records. Last month was the previous New York mark. The old national mark, recorded this month, was $209,037,382 by Ohio.
Mobile sports betting gross gaming revenue (GGR) for January posted at $211,504,815, up a significant 12.3% from December ($188,300,120), also new state (December 2023) and national records. The previous national mark was $205,734,730 by Ohio, set this month.
Legislators were certainly happy in Albany as taxes collected from mobile sports betting totaled $107,867,456 in January, an $11.8 million increase from December’s $96,033,061, which broke the old state and national records.
