The start of the Labor Day Weekend Friday was a reminder that the NFL football season is less than a week away as the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) released official mobile New York sports betting figures for the week ending Aug. 27.
Total mobile handle came in at more than $212.19 million, a solid $21.5 million drop from $233.69 million the week prior. It also was the state's lowest handle in more than a year since over $190.17 million was reported for the week ending July 10, 2022.
The state’s total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) came in at $21.42 million, a more than $150,000 tick below $21.57 million reported a week ago.
Tax collected by Albany: $10,927,777, a mild $73,467 drop from more than $11 million from a week ago. Since the launch of mobile betting, the state has generated more than $27.222 billion in handle, more than $2.376 billion in GGR and $1.212 billion in taxes.

FanDuel Sportsbook Retakes No. 1 Spot
Only one mobile provider saw an increase in its weekly handle (PointsBet) and even after a down week, FanDuel NY retook the top spot from DraftKings. PointsBet posted more than $3.9 million, a $663,300 jump from $3.28 million the prior week.
FanDuel handled more than $83.73 million, a $3.9 million drop from the week prior. DraftKings posted more than $75.10 million, a big $14.2 million decrease from the week prior ($89.30 million).
Four of the eight NY sports betting apps went up in weekly total GGR (FanDuel, DraftKings, WynnBET and Resorts World Bet). BallyBet is in its ninth week of transitioning to a new platform and was once again not part of the weekly report.
