DraftKings Unseats FanDuel as No. 1 for 1st Time in Weekly NY Handle
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

A rather uninspiring week of official numbers unveiled a rather significant development in the weekly mobile New York sports betting report for the week ending June 11.

But first, the basics, as reported by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC).

Total mobile handle for the week posted at $298.7 million, a decrease of $1.19 million from the previous week. It was the third consecutive week of below $300 million. However, total mobile Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) came in at more than $26.06 million, a slight $778,057 bump from the Commission’s last report.

Weekly tax collected by Albany: $13,292,460, $396,809 more than last week.

Since launch in January 2022, the state has handled more than $24.607 billion and posted more than $2.109 billion in total GGR and $1.075 billion in taxes.

The Big News

After 74 official weekly reports on NY sports betting apps released by the NYSGC, DraftKings NY upended FanDuel NY from the top spot for the first time ever — and by a rather fair margin, to boot.

DraftKings NY’s total mobile handle was more than $131.12 million, a $26.09 million increase from a week ago and its highest mark since $137.19 million was reported for the week ending April 30.

FanDuel NY posted more than $104.81 million in mobile handle, a $16.74 decrease, and its lowest since $83.72 million was reported for the week ending Aug. 28, 2022.

DraftKings' handle margin over FanDuel was $26.31 million.

Since DraftKings recorded just $83.82 million for the week ending May 28, the Boston-based provider has enjoyed a $47.3 million handle increase over the last two weeks.

Resorts World NY and DraftKings were the only two providers to post increases in both handle and GGR for the week. PointsBet NY also increased in handle.
