Mobile New York sports betting had its rebound ended abruptly as official weekly figures for the week ending Aug. 13 were released by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) Thursday.
Total mobile handle posted more than $223.75 million, a huge $93.7 million loss from last week’s $317.50 million. It ended a three-week string of increases since $161.95 million was reported for the week ending July 16.
The state’s total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) recorded $21.32 million, a $22.19 million decrease from the week before ($43.52 million).
Tax collected by the state: $10,877,207, an $11.27 million drop from the previous week ($22.15 million).
Since the launch of New York sports betting apps, the state has generated more than $26.776 billion in mobile handle, more than $2.333 billion in mobile GGR and $1.190 billion in taxes.
DraftKings Drops Dramatically
A week after posting its highest total mobile handle ($161.40 million), DraftKings posted a little less than $76 million, an $85.5 million plummet. That drops them behind FanDuel NY for the top weekly spot.
In addition, DraftKings’ largest-ever total GGR of $25.14 million just a week ago declined to the tune of $18.39 million to more than $6.84 million.
Five of the eight providers (BallyBet is in its seventh week of transitioning to a new platform) had mild increases in their weekly handles (BetMGM NY, WynnBET, PointsBet, Resorts World Bet and BetRivers). BetRivers was the only provider to see an upward tick in total GGR.
BetMGM NY came in at more than $19.15 million in total handle, its highest since $23.19 million was recorded for the week ending June 4.
