Looks Like Giants QB Jones Will Play
The biggest question has been whether or not Giants quarterback Daniel Jones would play, but as of Friday, he was on track to complete concussion protocols and is expected to start against the Rams. Jones suffered a concussion in the second quarter in a 44-20 loss at Dallas last Sunday.
Fourteen players were on the Giants’ injury report Thursday, including running back Saquon Barkley, who suffered an ankle injury in the Dallas loss. He is not expected to play.
Giants rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney had a breakout game last week with 10 catches and 189 yards.
Rams Coming Off Win Over Seattle
The Rams upended Seattle, 26-17, last Thursday after trailing 7-3 at halftime. Quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 25-of-37 passes for 365 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Wide receiver Robert Woods had 12 catches for 150 yards, and wide receiver Cooper Kupp added seven receptions for 92 yards for the Rams, who bounced back from a 37-20 home loss to Arizona the week before.
It was Woods’ second time in his last 20 games where he has had over 100 receiving yards.
The Rams, who defeated the Giants, 17-9, on Oct. 3, 2020, have had 400-plus total yards in three straight games.
Who Will Will?
Prediction: The Giants are home, and Jones coming back is a big plus. However, they are facing an offensive juggernaut in the Rams, and this is a tough hill to climb for the Giants, especially with their injury problems. Rams 41, Giants 20.
