Mobile New York sports betting continues to rattle the keys on calculators throughout the state. With skyrocketing numbers, the Empire State no doubt will surpass its neighbor as king with one week left in the month.
New Jersey currently holds the record for online sports betting handle for a single month at $1.3 billion set in October 2021.
After three full weekends of operation, the state of New York has a sports betting handle of $1.175 billion. That handle comes in a mere 16 days with four NY Sportsbooks since the Jan. 8 debut and BetMGM since Jan. 17. The handle from this weekend, which includes the AFC and NFC conference championship games, is sure to easily allow New York to beat the all-time monthly national record.

To date this month, New York has amassed $1.175 billion in total handle. Its Total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) is at $91.427 million and taxes to the state are at $46.628 million.

Inside New York Sports Betting Numbers
Here is a look at the mobile figures posted Friday for Jan. 17-23 by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC). Four sportsbooks were live on Jan. 8: Caesars Sportsbook NY, DraftKings New York, FanDuel New York and BetRivers New York. BetMGM joined on Jan. 17:
$572,552,146 :  The total handle recorded from Jan. 17-23 by the four sportsbook operators in the mobile New York sports betting market. That exceeds the $431.72 million total handle of Jan. 10-16 and almost surpassed the figure of $603,053,836 set over two weekends.
$43,202,492 :  Total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) reported from Jan. 17-23. Added to the GGR of $48,224,783 over nine days and you get a total of $88,912,572 so far.
$22,033,271:  Add this amount of taxes paid to the state to the previous report of $24,594,639, which alone set a new U.S. record. Mobile sports wagering GGR is taxed at 51% in New York, tied for highest in the country with New Hampshire.
A Look at Each NY Sportsbook
The third week of official sports betting in the state was positive across the board for the original core four and BetMGM New York.
Caesars Sportsbook New York reported $229.7 million in mobile handle, up from $190.23 million from the week before. Caesars’ GGR was at $19.03 million for the week. Since Jan. 8, Caesars is at $487.36 million with GGR at $41.75 million and taxes dished out at $21.29 million.

FanDuel New York posted $159.63 million in handle, up from $137.1 million the week before. The GGR weekly total was $10.038 million. Since, Jan. 8, FanDuel has posted $360 million in total handle, $24.18 million in GGR and taxes to the state come in at $12.33 million.
DraftKings New York’s mobile handle powered to $131.058 million, up from $95.9 million a week earlier. Their
GGR was $10.828 million, a tick down from $10.92 million a week ago. Since Jan. 8, DraftKings handle is at $265.475 million, GGR at $21.75 million and taxes to Albany at $11.093 million.
Bet Rivers New York had a slight improvement to $11.56 million in handle, up from $10.63 million from Jan. 8-16. Its GGR was $784,797, up from $446,696 last week. Since Jan. 8, total handle for BetRivers is at $22.194 million, GGR at $1,231 million and taxes at $45,345 million.
BetMGM New York posted its first figures, which were $40,569,269 in handle, $2,514,702 in GGR and $1,282 in taxes.
PointsBet New York launched on Jan. 25 and more than likely will be in the first weekly report for February (Jan. 31-Feb. 6).
WynnBET New York, BallyBet New York and Resorts World New York are still waiting to launch. BallyBet intimated earlier this week that it might launch in April.
